Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to common enquiries.

Do you train dogs for the public?

No. We do not offer dog training services, assessments, behaviour consultations or courses for the public.

Do you sell trained dogs?

No. Every dog within Rencon Working Dogs is owned, trained and worked exclusively by us.

Do you cover all of Scotland?

Yes. We operate throughout Scotland, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Is Rencon Working Dogs a registered charity?

No. Rencon Working Dogs operates on a non-profit basis but is not currently a registered charity.

How is the organisation funded?

Commercial drug detection work helps fund training, equipment, welfare systems, vehicle costs and wider operating costs. Funds generated are reinvested into the organisation.

Why are your spaniels docked?

Our dogs are legally docked under the genuine working dog exemption. For working spaniels, docking is intended to reduce the risk of painful tail injuries when working through dense cover, brambles, woodland and rough ground.
